I was recently browsing a vintage jewelry booth when I came across a bracelet like this one. The owner and I got to chatting, and she told me these gemstone bracelets were often made at jewelry parties in the '60s and '70s. Apparently, women would gather in each other's homes and design their own pieces using stones just like these.
Imagine my surprise when I stumbled upon one of my own just a few weeks later.
I like to think it carries a little piece of those afternoons with it.
